Wednesday, January 29
HNRY FLWR, Big Bliss, JW Francis, Viktor Longo at The Sultan Room, 7 p.m.
HNRY FLWR impressed many with his 2017 debut EP Flowerama, and after patiently waiting, fans will now have new music to enjoy. On Wednesday, he’ll share “Waiting Room,” and he’ll be celebrating with a lineup of friends on Wednesday night at The Sultan Room. The event, billed as The Waiting Room Of The Great Beyond, is curated by Bushwick’s own We Color Live and features performances from Big Bliss, JW Francis (who just released an excellent new single), and Viktor Longo. Julia Cumming of Sunflower Bean will be DJing throughout the evening.
Thursday, January 30
Frances Quinlan, NOIA at The Sultan Room, 8 p.m.
Frances Quinlan, the front person of Philadelphia indie rock standouts Hop Along, is about to release her first solo album, Likewise, on Saddle Creek Records. The record features two captivating singles, “Now That I’m Back” and “Rare Thing.” NOIA, the project of Gisela Fullà-Silvestre, will open the show.
Friday, January 31
Johnny Dynamite, Real World, Adir LC, Bad Weird, Void Boys at Our Wicked Lady, 7:30 p.m.
You may know Johnny Dynamite as the drummer of some of your favorite local acts, such as Whiner and Ashjesus. Now, he’s stepping out from behind the kit with his first solo release, Heartbroken. The record features two previously released dark and electronic sounding singles, “Hey Join Me (You’re Not Alone)” and “Walking Poetry.” The rest of the album is out on Friday and the release party is happening at Our Wicked Lady. He’ll be joined by Real World, Adir LC, Bad Weird, and the Void Boys.
Saturday, February 1
Human People, Washer, Thanks For Coming at Trans-Pecos, 8 p.m.
Sadly, beloved indie-punks Human People have decided that Saturday night’s show at Trans-Pecos will be their last. The four-piece charmed us with their hook-filled 2018 LP, Butterflies Drink Turtle Tears, and their energetic live sets. Come enjoy one last live performance with support from their Exploding In Sound labelmates Washer and Thanks For Coming.
