East Williamsburg’s coffee offerings become even more robust this Friday when Oakland’s Blue Bottle Coffee officially opens the doors of its McKibbin Street location.

The new location, which was first announced in June of 2015, is not just any Blue Bottle shop, either. When the location was announced, Blue Bottle’s representative Thor Retail Advisers told Gothamist that the space is a combination cafe, coffee roasting facility and bakery.

A friends and family day takes place at the new location on Thursday, with free coffee and proceeds from pastry sales benefitting Bushwick’s extraordinary one-room schoolhouse Still Waters in a Storm. The general public can visit the new location starting on Friday (though hours have not yet been announced).

Blue Bottle’s new address is 279 McKibbin Street between White Street and Bushwick Avenue.
