Beloved Archie’s Bar & Pizza in Bushwick, located at 128 Central Ave., slings more than just pies.

The late night hotspot known for being delightfully crowded on weekends and accountable for causing and getting over hangovers now has some great news. Archie’s now has an all day happy hour, and serves a cheeseburger grinder that will forever alter what you think when you think cheeseburger.

Yes, your read correctly: Archie’s now devotes full nine hours every day to cheaper booze, starting at 11 a.m. all the way until 8 p.m. to make you smile.

A dollar off drafts ($4-7 before the deal) and well drinks for $5 instead of $6 and $5 house wines and a $5 Tecate and shot special will make your head spin in all the right ways, Bushwick!

Archie’s General Manager Diego Macias, who cooks and tends bar, tells us that the local pizza joint has been offering a slew of quintessential New England grinders in the $9-11 price range since their opening in April 2015, and elaborates that their menu includes a lot more than “just pizza.”

Macias notes that their take on the standard East Coast sandwich, which is baked in Archie’s pizza oven, is possibly “unfamiliar” even to the pizzeria’s most dedicated patrons.

Served on Balthazar ciabatta bread, which is delivered fresh to Archie’s every day, the cheeseburger grinder ($11) is classically topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, and mozzarella, and rounded out with mayonnaise, oil, vinegar, salt and pepper.

The mound of simple ingredients is so satisfying that you will think twice about ordering a hamburger on a traditional semolina, sesame seed, or brioche bun ever again!

Exaggerated in all the right places, Archie’s take on a traditional offering is elongated, served on a hero with two shoulder-to-shoulder four-ounce burger patties, and seriously doesn’t mess around. Paired with perfectly crunchy pickles, this sandwich need no other side.

Archie’s Cheeseburger Grinder, Steve’s Key Lime Pie, and Bell’s Christmas Ale = the perfect lunch. Cristin Noonan for Bushwick Daily.

If you do have room, though, let it be for Steve’s Key Lime Pie with graham cracker crust, which is made in Red Hook and makes weekly deliveries to Archie’s.

Devouring the cute mini pie after the cheeseburger grinder is totally doable if you come especially hungry to Archie’s (like me)!

Soak it all up with Archie’s current seasonal draft, Bell’s Christmas Ale ($7). The popular Midwestern brewery’s recurring offering sits somewhere between the slight punch of an IPA with a drinkability of lager and is, well, a perfect afternoon drink.

Archie’s also currently has on tap Sierra Nevada’s Torpedo IPA ($7), Bitburger pilsner ($6), Six Point’s cream ale Sweet Action ($6), Bud Light lager ($4), and Stella Artois pilsner ($6).

In addition to the cheeseburger grinder, Archies offers a list of other grinder combos ranging from Meatball ($9), to the Eggplant Parm ($11), to the B.L.T. ($9).

Archie’s also does small plates ($5-7) from several of the grinders minus the bread, oven-baked shell pasta ($9-13), and salads ($8).

And every day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. you can have Brunch Pizza, which I encourage topping with their housemade pesto.

Next time you go to Archie’s for some grub, consider the cheeseburger grinder and don’t forget to take advantage of their extra long happy hour, Bushwick!
