In addition to their nighttime hours, Archie’s (located at 128 Central Avenue) is now open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. serving a delicious daily brunch menu that puts a twist on their decadent pie selection.
Some of you may find yourselves already bored with the standard Bushwick brunch options and looking for something new. Others among us have given up on breakfast pizza after your elementary school’s cafeteria served a questionable version of it and everybody died a little. If you’re in either camp, consider this: Archie’s pizza is basically equivalent to your relationship with summertime in NYC circa the end of June: who isn’t falling in love all over again? Pizza is all you need.
Archie’s brunch menu features both vegetarian and meat offerings. The veggie pies, priced at $13 for a 10 inch pie or $20 for a 14 inch, are topped with ricotta, spinach, mushroom, and egg, and the meat pies which are $15 for the small or $18 for the large, come loaded with smoked bacon, capicola, ricotta, and egg. Bushwick Daily got a hot tip and tried the meat pie with a fried egg and house made pesto on top. It’s totally worth the price tag: the ingredients work together well, creating a cohesive pie and that can make even the pickiest foodie swoon.
If brunch pizza isn’t your thing, you can also order a non-brunch pizza during their daytime hours, as well as their grinders, pastas, small plates, salads, and Key Lime Pie (made in Red Hook!).
Brunch vibes are fully achieved with their reasonably priced adult beverages: Micheladas ($6), Mimosas ($8), and a full suite of Bloodies: the traditional Bloody Mary (vodka), a Bloody Matilda (swap in gin), and Bloody Marias, (with tequila), all of which go for $8. Archie’s bartender Douglas Marks wants to make sure Archie’s daytime vibes are just as hospitable as they are in the evening, inviting the community to come check it out thus: “we play a lot of radio during the day, always have the NY Times, and we have plants!”
