Rangoon Noodle Lab Will Offer a Burmese Lunch Menu Starting Monday at The Bodega

Rangoon Noodle Lab, an absolutely delicious Burmese pop-up, has made a permanent home at The Bodega, and starting Monday, March 20, they’ll have new weekday lunch hours from 12 to 5 p.m.

When Bushwick Daily first tried Chef Myo Moe’s noodle creations, the limited menu packed a flavor punch in the form of a few well-executed dishes all prepared impressively in a minuscule corner of the bar. It was like watching your friend prepare a 10-course tasting menu for 15 friends in a Bushwick kitchen. 

Then, when the menu became a permanent evening fixture, we were blown away by the salty-sweet baos and the most delicious and hard to find Burmese Tea Leaf Salad made with fermented tea leaves, cabbage, peanuts, and tomatoes. 

The new lunch menu includes sandwiches, salads, and the cutely-named duets, which are a protein (salmon poke or cinnamon chicken) and a rice pilaf for only $12. And two of the three salad options are both vegan and gluten free. The addition of rolls and bahn mi might make this the trendiest menu this side of Wyckoff. 



Burmese food is rare even in a multi-ethnic melting pot such as New York City, so Bushwick is very lucky to have access to such tasty flavors for dinner and now for lunch.

Bodega Banh Mi- sardine, house coleslaw, capers, veggie chips crumbles

Tofu Banh Mi  (V)- lemongrass, arugula, caramelized onion

Paradise Summer Rolls (VG) (GF)- zucchini noodle, mango, cucumber, red cabbage, turmeric-tahini vinaigrette

Veggie Ratatouille Rolls (VG)-paratha, spring vegetables, crisp shallots

Beef Rendang Rolls- paratha, braised beef, pickled cucumber-carrots-shallots 

SALADS  $8 

Turmeric Chickpea-Tofu Salad (VG) (GF)- kaffir lime-tamarind vinaigrette, purple cabbage 

Pickled Veggie Salad (VG) (GF)- mustard green, spring vegetables, toasted cashew 

Cold Sesame Peanut Salad (V)- egg noodle, microgreens, sesame chili oil, garlic crisp

Spicy Tofu Poke + Red Rice Pilaf (VG)- chilled ginger soy tofu, spring onion, edamame puree
