Since early in 2016, Chef Myo Moe of Rangoon NoodleLab has been running a wildly popular a pop-up at The Bodega, the tapas bar on St. Nicholas and Troutman. It’s been such a hit that beginning this Wednesday, the wine bar launches a permanent menu Moe created!
Chef Myo is from Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, located in Southeast Asia, and her menu options draw inspiration from the culinary traditions of her country. She creates all her dishes at at a small station behind the bar, as The Bodega does not have a full kitchen.
Located just off the Jefferson L stop, The Bodega has been a Bushwick favorite since it opened its doors seven years ago. The proprietors are also the ones behind Heavy Woods and Bonus Room.
The Bodega previously offered small plates of meats, cheeses, and sandwiches; Myo will be “reimagining [their] tapas menu with an Asian influence, creating her own versions of popular dishes like Chinese dumplings, dim sum, bao buns, Korean kimchi, Japanese ramen, Thai papaya salad, and Vietnamese sandwiches,” owner Ben Warren tells Bushwick Daily.
Chef Myo will launch this latest venture this Wednesday, October 26th at 6 p.m. Be there!
