From November 5th through November 9th, Sandy Hall, chef of Black Tree, a deluxe farm-to-table sandwich joint on the Lower East Side, will be selling his wares at Kings County. If you’ve been craving a heavenly sandwich, but are too lazy to leave Bushwick, well, you aren’t being very imaginative because we have lots of delicious sandwiches right in our neighborhood. But for a few days next week, we have one more! Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, the menu will feature sandwiches made from whole roasted hog and duck, including a duck banh mi with liver mousse, spicy aioli, and pickled carrots ($13). It all goes down in a tiki party setting to the soundtrack of surf and garage rockers!
Tickets are $25, and that includes one drink ticket and an all-you-can-eat luau buffet, with melt-in-your-mouth suckling pig and ice cream sandwiches from Melt. And jello shots, naturally- what Tiki Party would be complete without them (2 for $6)?! Party starts at 2 PM on Sunday, and the first plating is at 3 PM. And if whole-roasted pigs and jello shots aren’t enough to draw you in, they’re also gonna have live music from High Waisted (spawning one beer/deal: the Get-High-Waisted for $5), Las Rosas, and Mystery Lights.
Kings County Saloon is located at 1 Knickerbocker Ave. They’ll be hosting a pop-up by Black Tree every night from November 5th through November 9th, culminating in a Tiki Party on Sunday, Novemeber 9th, from 2 PM to 8 PM. Tickets here!
