Two affordable housing lotteries are closing this week (one in Brooklyn, one in Manhattan), while a rezoning proposal in Ridgewood heads to the NYC Council’s zoning subcommittee and the City Planning Commission takes votes on roughly eleven projects, including one on Kent Avenue in Williamsburg. The Department of Housing Preservation and Development is closing applications for Botanic Heights in Brooklyn on July 2. That building targets households earning between $106,766 and $238,160. Willow Tree Residences in Manhattan has a July 3 deadline and is open to households earning between $42,275 and $81,420.
On Wednesday, July 1 at 10 a.m., the City Planning Commission is scheduled to vote on roughly eleven projects, according to City Limits. Among them: a rezoning proposal at 200 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, St. Augustine’s Preservation and Redevelopment, and the New Goodhue Center at 314 Lafayette Avenue. The commission will also hold public hearings on five separate proposals at the same session, including the Park Avenue Brooklyn Rezoning and the Fort Hamilton Mews Rezoning.
At 11 a.m. on July 1, the NYC Council’s Subcommittee on Zoning and Franchises will meet to take up four land use applications, City Limits reports. One of them is the 63-02 Fresh Pond Road Rezoning in Ridgewood. The others are a rezoning at 2950 West 24th Street, 1160 Pugsley Avenue Rezoning, and 1166 Bedford Avenue Rezoning.
Tuesday, June 30 also has two housing-related meetings. At 2 p.m., the Brooklyn Marine Terminal Development Corporation’s board, which oversees the city’s plan to redevelop the Brooklyn Marine Terminal site in Red Hook, is scheduled to meet, per City Limits. That evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., the Department of Consumer and Worker Protections is hosting a workshop titled “Financial Empowerment to Access Housing” at 990 Pelham Parkway South in the Bronx. The session will cover credit, debt, savings, and housing.
