The 2000s pop-punk act Simple Plan will headline a benefit concert at SummerStage in Central Park on Wednesday, August 19, joined by 3OH!3 and Bowling for Soup, the City Parks Foundation announced.
The show is a stop on Simple Plan’s “Bigger Than You Think! Tour: The Sequel,” according to the foundation, which produces the SummerStage series at the Capital One City Parks Foundation venue. The foundation described the lineup as “a veritable who’s who of 2000’s rock,” led by the band behind “I’m Just a Kid” and “Perfect,” which it said has been releasing charting songs for more than 25 years.
The foundation said 3OH!3, the duo behind “DONTTRUSTME” and “My First Kiss” — the latter featuring Kesha — will also perform, as will Bowling for Soup, known for “1985” and “High School Never Ends.” The organization billed the evening as a night of hits “from your high school CD mixtape.”
Like other SummerStage programming, the concert is a benefit show supporting the City Parks Foundation, the organization said. Tickets are available through the foundation’s event page at cityparksfoundation.org.
Presale access opened ahead of the general on-sale for several groups, the foundation said. It said Capital One cardholder presales began February 10 at 12 p.m., with additional presales for SummerStage members and Young Patrons. The foundation did not specify the general on-sale date in the announcement reviewed by Bushwick Daily.
