Public Advocate Jumaane Williams plans to join community organizations for a vigil honoring Amira Aminova on the evening of Thursday, February 12, according to a public schedule released by his office. The vigil is set for 6 p.m. at 23rd Avenue and Bath Avenue in Brooklyn, the office said.

Earlier that afternoon, Williams is scheduled to join advocates at 4 p.m. to re-raise the Pride flag at the Stonewall National Monument, located at 38-64 Christopher Street in Manhattan, the office said. The monument marks the site of the 1969 Stonewall uprising, widely regarded as a turning point in the LGBTQ rights movement.

The schedule, distributed for planning purposes, also lists a 9 a.m. appearance on the online program “Miss Jones Presents: Pink Champs,” with the office noting that the interview will air online and that the timing is approximate. At 9:15 a.m., Williams is set to attend the PS/IS 155 Inauguration Ball at 1355 Herkimer Street in Brooklyn, according to the office.

The Office of the Public Advocate said press inquiries may be directed to [email protected]. Additional information about the office is available on its website, advocate.nyc.gov.
