New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams is scheduled to speak at a hearing of the City Council’s Committee on Education on Tuesday, Feb. 10, according to a public schedule released by his office.
The Office of the Public Advocate said Williams will appear at 10 a.m. at 250 Broadway, in the eighth-floor hearing room in lower Manhattan. The advisory, distributed for planning purposes, listed the education committee appearance as the only item on the public advocate’s schedule for that day and did not specify the subject of his testimony or the legislation under consideration.
Williams, an at-large citywide official who serves as a watchdog over city government and ranks second in line of succession to the mayor, regularly testifies before Council committees on education and other policy matters. His office directed inquiries to its press contact and pointed readers to its website, advocate.nyc.gov, for additional information.
