New Yorkers looking for a city career can apply this month for a new round of civil service exams, the Department of Citywide Administrative Services announced, with openings spanning public health, education, safety and other agency roles.
The agency, which manages hiring tests for city government, said February’s slate offers what it described as diverse paths to serve the public, ranging from frontline service to analytical and program-support work. DCAS framed the exams as a first step toward what it called a fulfilling public-service career, citing stability, benefits and the chance to work within city agencies.
Among the February exams the agency highlighted is the Occupational Therapist position with the Department of Education, which DCAS said is accepting applications through February 24. The agency indicated that additional exams across public health, education and safety are also open for application this month, though it did not detail every position in its listing.
DCAS said the testing process is straightforward and that resources are available to help applicants prepare. The agency directed prospective candidates to apply and find listings at the city’s jobs portal at cityjobs.nyc.gov.
