North Brooklyn Parks Alliance will hold its annual fall gala, called “REBUILD NORTH BROOKLYN,” on Thursday, October 1 beneath the Kosciuszko Bridge at Under the K Bridge Park in Brooklyn, according to a save-the-date announcement from the organization. Tickets go on sale July 9; pricing has not been announced.
NBK Parks is the nonprofit conservancy for public green spaces in Greenpoint and Williamsburg, operating under a district-wide mandate for Brooklyn’s Community Board 1. Founded in 2003 and formerly known as Open Space Alliance (OSA), the organization converts overlooked infrastructure into public destinations and restores native habitats. It maintains the district’s park network. Bushwick Daily covered the group last month when it convened nightlife operators and city officials around low-waste event practices.
The announcement describes the gala as a celebration of “the people, partnerships, and long-term investments shaping the future of public space.” A start time for the October 1 event has not been announced.
NBK Parks is also assembling a Gala Host Committee of supporters who introduce new audiences to the organization. The group says prospective Host Committee members will be invited to a pre-gala cocktail event at the Wythe Hotel; a date and time for that gathering had not been announced as of publication. Anyone interested in joining the committee can email Katie Denny Horowitz at [email protected].
