The MTA launched a new mobile app for New York City subway and bus riders, featuring real-time arrival data, accessibility tools, and live customer support designed to improve navigation of the nation’s largest public transit network.

The app provides real-time arrival information, transfer details, service changes, and accessibility features for riders with disabilities. It includes live in-app customer support and a direct link to the MTA Lost and Found page, according to the MTA announcement.

Governor Kathy Hochul announced the launch as part of the MTA’s commitment to investing in the transit system and delivering better customer experience. “This update allows New Yorkers and visitors alike to make informed decisions about their commutes and quickly plan an alternate route if a service change occurs,” the announcement stated.

The app was developed by an in-house team of tech experts at minimal cost to the Authority and is available in English and Spanish. It can be downloaded through the Apple App Store for iOS devices or Google Play Store for Android.

Future updates will include OMNY account management and ride history features, though the MTA has not announced a timeline for these additions.

The new app will directly impact subway and bus riders across all five boroughs, including those in North Brooklyn neighborhoods like Bushwick, Williamsburg, Greenpoint, and Bed-Stuy who rely on public transportation for daily commutes.
