Mayor Zohran Mamdani cross-posted an Instagram post from a local politics influencer to his personal account over the weekend, the news outlet Hell Gate reported, the latest sign that the new administration is leaning on online allies to amplify its agenda.

According to Hell Gate’s reporting, Mamdani shared a post made by Carla Marie Davis, whom the outlet described as a local politics influencer and progressive politics advocate, on his @zohrankmamdani account. Hell Gate said the mayor still posts from that personal handle almost daily, even though he also runs the official @nycmayor account.

The cross-post landed three days after Mamdani’s “Adams Budget Crisis” press conference, which Hell Gate characterized as the mayor’s opening gambit to press the governor to fund his agenda. The account, by the outlet’s reporters Max Rivlin-Nadler and Adlan Jackson, appeared in Hell Gate’s weekly newsletter tracking Mamdani’s first 100 days in office.
