Brooklyn-based rapper and podcast host Donwill — the Cincinnati-born MC who is one half of the hip-hop duo Tanya Morgan — recorded a live episode of his two-time Webby Award-winning podcast “The Almanac of Rap” before an audience at Ludlow House on the Lower East Side on Tuesday, March 24, taping a conversation with Mixtape Museum Chief Curator Regan Sommer McCoy about the past, present and future of the genre, according to publicist Kevin Grossi of Audible Treats.

The taping began at 6:30 p.m. at Ludlow House, 139 Ludlow St. in Manhattan, a Soho House members’ club on the Lower East Side. Grossi said the episode was hosted by Donwill, presented by Okayplayer and brought to the venue by On Air Presents and Okayplayer. The publicist’s invitation framed McCoy’s appearance around the trajectory of hip-hop, billing the sit-down as a discussion of where the music has been and where it is headed.

McCoy is chief curator at the Mixtape Museum, an archival project documenting the history of the mixtape as a hip-hop format. Grossi identified her as the evening’s featured guest opposite Donwill, who hosts the show.

The live recording came early in the podcast’s new fourth season, which premiered Feb. 26, 2026 and airs weekly on Thursdays. Grossi said Season 4 kicks off what Donwill calls “The Almanac of Rap’s most ambitious undertaking ever,” though the publicist’s note did not spell out further details of the season’s plans. The show, presented by Okayplayer, won a Webby Award for Best Music Podcast in 2023 and was honored again for Experimental Innovation in 2025.
