Distressed Fest, a traveling marketplace for worn, repaired and distressed vintage clothing, staged its fifth installment at The 1896 in Williamsburg on March 28, transforming the industrial warehouse into a hub for secondhand denim, workwear and one-of-a-kind pieces, organizers said.
The event brought together more than 50 curated vendors from around the world, according to a pitch from publicist Taryn Briskin of ID-PR on behalf of the festival. Each vendor showcased pieces marked by what organizers described as genuine fades, authentic repairs and decades of character, including rare workwear and worn denim.
Distressed Fest was founded by Abe Lange in 2023 and has positioned itself as a gathering point for designers, vintage dealers, stylists, influencers and everyday shoppers, organizers said. The festival said designers from labels including Balenciaga, Rick Owens, Levi’s and Ralph Lauren shop its floors for authentic originals alongside collectors and trend forecasters.
The organizers framed the event against what they called a broader shift in consumer behavior, asserting that one-third of all clothing sold in America last year was secondhand. More information is available at distressedfest.com.
