About 700 seniors in Flushing lost a place they use every day. The Latimer Gardens Older Adult Center, inside the NYCHA complex of the same name, has been temporarily closed because of persistent roof leaks. The closure cuts off meals, services, and the daily social life that hundreds of older adults rely on.
