Debate season is in full effect and with major elections looming ahead, candidates and their teams are working tirelessly to secure every vote they can. Amongst those candidates up for spots to represent the democratic party in these coming elections, is activist and New York State senator for the 18th district, Julia Salazar

Salazar won her seat as a first-time candidate after unseating incumbent senator Martin Malave Dilan in the Democratic primary in 2018.

Today, Salazar and her camp invite New Yorkers from the 18th district (covering much of north Brooklyn) and beyond to their Senate petition launch and debate watch party at The Well at 272 Meserole St.

Before the debate, at 5PM the team behind NYC For Bernie and Senator Julia Salazar, will begin their petitioning training, then volunteers will head out to start collecting petition signatures to get Senator Salazar on the ballot.

The South Carolina Democratic Debate is scheduled to begin at 8:00PM, but Julia and her campaign will be around before the debate, to discuss the work that she’s doing in the community and what they have planned for the 2020 legislative session and beyond.

Anyone interested can RSVP here and for more information keep up with the team on Instagram
