A fire in the walls of a three-story building on Wilson Avenue partially destroyed a Chinese restaurant last night.

Twelve units and 60 firefighters responded to the fire, which started inside the walls above the New Hardee Chinese restaurant at 130 Wilson Ave., according to FDNY.

The firemen brought the blaze under control by 9:45 p.m., by which time a large crowd had gathered on the street outside.

“It was very sad,” said John Rappaport, who lives across the street and took photos of the blaze. “[There were] many fire trucks and police.”

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation by fire marshals.
