It’s been barely a week since we last wrote about a deadly shooting in Bushwick, and today we have to add yet another report of the kind.

Police have informed us that 17-year-old Kieth Kyser succumbed to his injuries after last night’s shooting near Halsey Street subway station.

On Friday, June 9, at 1:49 a.m. police officers from the 73rd Precinct responded to a report of an assault on Broadway and Jefferson Avenue in Bushwick.

At the scene police discovered a 17-year-old man, who unconscious and unresponsive, with gunshot wounds to his torso. Another shooting victim, a 14-year-old male, was injured in his left thigh.

Paramedics rushed both men to the Kings County Hospital where Kieth Kyser was pronounced dead. The 14-year-old is being treated and is stable.

There were no arrests yet; the investigation is ongoing.

Stay tuned for any further information we receive.

Correction: On the basis of an incorrect police report we incorrectly identified the cross street as Jefferson Street. It’s Jefferson Avenue.
