Another week, another L train headache. This time service disruptions come in the form of the MTA’s so-called “FASTRACK” repairs happening overnight Monday through Thursday this week and the next—April 3-7 and April 10-14.

Starting tonight, no L trains will run between the Lorimer and Broadway Junction stops from 10:30 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. As always, there will be a free shuttle bus running along the route, but expect your nighttime routine or your trip home from the bars to take a little longer if it involves an L train ride.

Officially speaking, the repairs will include removing debris from around the third rail, improving the cleanliness of the stations and platforms, and making sure all signs and fixtures are up to snuff.

We hope all that cleaning and inspecting leads to better and more timely rides for everyone once continuous service is restored, but we remain ever-doubtful of the MTA’s ability to deliver us to and from our destinations especially after reports recently proved that service is getting worse.
