LAPêCHE

If you missed LAPêCHE‘s incredible performance at Brooklyn Steel last Saturday in support of ’90s punk legends Jawbox, don’t fret! You can catch the local four-piece at Gold Sounds on Thursday night before they head down to D.C. for another big venue gig in support of Jawbox.

They’ll be joined by Orlando indie rock trio, The Pauses, who are in the midst of a Midwest and East Coast tour that includes dates with Pylon Reenactment Society and Jawbox. Opening the gig is New York-based post-hardcore outfit Death Cults, who are releasing their debut self-titled album on June 28.

Friday, June 28

Stove, Janitor, Sic Tic at Rubulad, 8 p.m.

Janitor’s excellent debut She Hates The Hits, dropped last month and the band is having a proper release show celebration on Friday night. They’ll have some talented friends in tow, including Stove, who released their latest album Favorite Friend on Exploding In Sound Records in October of last year. The uber psychedelic sounds of Sic Tic will kick off the festivities.

Saturday, June 29

Ice Balloons, Greta, VPL at The Broadway, 8 p.m.

The newest venue in the neighborhood is not wasting any time delivering high-quality bills on a nightly basis. This Saturday is no exception at The Broadway, which features a headlining set from experimental noise group Ice Balloons. The group, which includes members of TV on the Radio, Surfbort, and Samiam, released a 7-inch single in February entitled Body In The Park. They’ll enjoy support from two newer locals, Greta and VPL.
