Free Music at Riis Park Beach Bazaar This Weekend

Out in the Streets is not the only musical event happening this weekend. Riis Park’s Beach Bazaar is in full swing, and their weekend music line up (co-sponsored by DeFalco Presents and Bushwick Daily) provides some alternative programming for those of you planning a beachy getaway on either Saturday or Sunday to cool off after a long week of crazy hot temps.

Eli Paperboy Reed is set to perform at Bay 9 on Saturday. His revivalist soul will turn a lazy day at the beach into a real party. Reed has been performing for over a decade and has amassed a sizable international following. The free show starts at 3pm.

Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra will take the stage at 1pm on Sunday. Their singular salsa arrangements of indie classics have garnered them some surprising mainstream attention. Do yourself a favor and check out their take on TV on the Radio’s “Wolf Like Me.”

In the past two years, Riis Park Beach Bazaar has turned into a popular weekend destination full of delicious food options (Bolivian Llama Party, Ample Hills, and Fletcher’s BBQ), games (The Push’s table tennis, cornhole, and horseshoes), and swimming of course.

So hop onto the beach bus, bum a ride from of friend (the parking is great), or bike if you’re daring enough to party with Bushwick Daily this weekend!
