In Bushwick and across the city, COVID cases are rising. With Christmas and New Years approaching, packed stores and holiday gatherings will only contribute to the spread of the virus. While roughly 80 percent of NYC residents, including over 90 percent of all adults living in the city, have received at least one dose of the COVID vaccine, testing is still extremely important, according to NYC Health Commissioner Dr. Dave A. Chokshi, as breakthrough cases remain a concern.
The best way to find every current place offering a COVID test is by entering your ZIP code in the city’s interactive tool, which is regularly updated throughout the day.
However, some specific details, including hours of operation, price and availability, among other things, are left out. So, we’ve done a bit of that research for you.
Note that most of the test sites listed in this article are at least somewhat permanent. Mobile pop-ups can be found through this link.

I tested positive last Saturday. I’ve had hundreds of tests done for work and never had an issue. Once I got a fever and needed to confirm if I had covid navigating all of this becomes so much more difficult. Even a 10 or 15 minute walk is tough. It seems like too much of our testing capacity is set up for travel and work requirements and they should have more of it reserved for people that are actually symptomatic (especially if you don’t have insurance)
There are city-run testing sites at 1428 Putnam Avenue, and another testing site at 485 Bushwick Ave. Despite the city website saying otherwise, there is no testing site at 400 Irving Avenue; you need to go around the corner to the Putnam Avenue testing site, which is a tent in a playground of some sort.
