NYC Restaurant Week is upon us! Despite its name, Restaurant Week is a four-week event, with participating restaurants offering special prix-fixe menus at $29, $39 or $59 per person from Jan. 18 to Feb. 13. Several restaurants in the Bushwick area will be taking part, providing us with an amazing opportunity to get out and try some tasty local spots.

Check out NYC Restaurant Week’s official page to book yourself a table and enjoy prix-fixe, multi-course meals.

Located at 112 Graham Ave., Gentle Perch is a neighborhood joint that specializes in Korean affairs with a Southern BBQ twist. Its casual interior fosters the communal dining experience that is so important in both of the cuisines that Gentle Perch draws upon, making this the perfect place to visit with friends or family this Restaurant Week.

Gentle Perch’s $29 dollar prix-fixe dinner menu will be served all four weeks of the event and includes your choice of appetizer, entree and dessert. Starters include Gentle Perch’s Eggplant Fries, served with hickory mayo (a Gentle Perch specialty), as well as vegan corn chowder or corn ribs. For the entree, patrons can enjoy creative Korean-Southern BBQ platters, all of which include lettuce wraps, bao buns, pickles and Korean BBQ sauce, accompanied by your choice of meat. Finally, the Restaurant Week menu is finished with a dessert, and you can choose between Gentle Perch’s Chips and Whip and Noona’s toasted rice ice cream.

Mission

Looking for Sichuanese-inspired dishes that will numb your mouth and melt your mind? This Restaurant Week, Mission, located at 599 Johnson Ave., has you covered. Named after the San Francisco neighborhood where its original iteration has its roots, Mission has since become a local institution here in Brooklyn.

This restaurant is an exciting choice for vegans and carnivores alike, as it has creative dishes for the plant eaters among us, like the spicy pineapple appetizer or Mission Mushrooms, which come with silken tofu, fermented chili and green peppercorn, alongside extra spicy XXX chicken wings and Thrice Cooked Bacon. Head on over to this super cool, neon-lit spot off of Flushing Avenue for its $59 dinner

Paloma’s BK, sitting at 1 Knickerbocker Ave., is a local establishment serving up modern Mexican cuisine. Its standard menu includes familiar favorites like burritos, tostadas and tacos, all served with extensive choices of fillings, such as chorizo, chicken or mushroom. You can also stop in to try something new, like Paloma’s Avocado Fries – slices of fresh avocado breaded and deep fried for an extra crunch. With an ample offering of cocktails, Paloma’s is perfect for a date night in a sleek setting on Knickerbocker Avenue.

Paloma’s is offering a $39 dollar three-course dinner for New York Restaurant Week. The special menu includes your choice of starters, like its Traditional Guacamole with an optional pancetta topping, and entrees such as Chamorro en Adobo, a succulent slow-cooked pork-hock in guajillo adobo. For dessert you can choose between tres leches cake or churro tostada. The menu also includes options for vegans and vegetarians, including vegan enchiladas, which are stuffed with sweet potatoes and drenched in a vegan green sauce.
