New Met Fresh Supermarket Is Opening This Week Near The Knickerbocker Avenue M Stop

Good news to all food lovers in the area; a new supermarket is coming to Bushwick. 

The new Met Fresh will be opening this week at 1381 Myrtle Avenue. Owner, Danny Hamdan said that he grew up working on in supermarkets with family members in Bay Ridge.

“After running these stores for the passed 8 years I gained a lot of knowledge and experience in the supermarket business and it was my turn to open my own store,” he said in an email to Bushwick Daily. “I have been in Bushwick working on this supermarket for about a year now.” 

By preparing the market in Bushwick, Hamdan learned that there were many demographics in the area and he plans on serving as many as he can. 

Once the supermarket opens, seniors will get a 10 percent discount every Thursday, customers will be able to shop for food online at metfresh.nyc

As part of the grand opening, Met Fresh will also be giving away VIP tickets to see bachata superstar Romeo Santos through local radio station X 96.3 FM. Follow the Met Fresh instagram to keep up with the giveaway.

Ingredients 2-2/3 c. washed and torn romaine lettuce 1-3/4 c. cucumber, peeled and chopped 1 c. celery, sliced 1 c. CALIFORNIA green seedless grapes 1 c. vegetable broth 3/4 c. sliced green onions 1/3 c. green peppers, chopped 1/3 c. day-old bread (crusts removed) 1/4 c. sherry vinegar or red wine vinegar 2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil 1 tsp. chopped garlic 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. white pepper 1/4 c. diced tomatoes (garnish) Directions: 1. Combine all ingredients except tomatoes in a large container. Blend in 2 or 3 batches in a blender or food processor until very smooth. Let chill for 1 to 2 hrs.
