This week may bring the New York weather’s first foray into the chilling 30’s. That’s a bummer. But train yourself not hibernate too much with your leaky radiators and 2-buck chuck! Instead, warm up in the spotlight of Kings County Saloon this Wednesday for their first Open Mic night at 8:00!

To be exact, sign-ups begin at 8 pm with performances kicking off at 9 pm. The event is free for performers and attendees, and may be the start of a monthly series! Throw a lime on it and turn up with friends and strangers (a.k.a. friends you haven’t met yet) and step into the limelight to showcase your awesome talent. Bring along your poetry, stories, stand-up, songs and what not. Organizer Alexa Atamanchuk tells us all styles and good vibes are encouraged!

You may remember the earlier hype around Kings County this summer—they moved from their Seigel Street location over to 1 Knickerbocker Avenue and thus began a new phase in this Bushwick bar staple’s social scene.

UPDATE: Open Mic night is being moved to the 3rd Thursday of the month and will resume on January 15th!

Open Mic at Kings County Saloon takes place Wednesday, November 12th at 9:00 pm (sign-ups begin at 8:00) at 1 Knickerbocker Ave. Check out their Facebook page for more details and don’t forget to warm up!
