Booze News: This Is a Day-Drinking Guide to Bushwick 2018

Warm weather is coming soon!

Last weekend, Bushwick finally saw some spring. While it was short lived, it was a sign of things to come: day-drinking.

Could there have been a better way to soak up that much-needed Vitamin D than an entire Saturday spent boozing in the neighborhood? Probably not.

While the weather absolutely sucks now, here is a starter guide to day-drinking in Bushwick to make the most of all your sunny Saturdays to come.

Beer ‘n Bloodys

King’s County Brewers Collective381 Troutman St: Hit this Bushwick brewery and stay a while. They’ve got board games to entertain you and your friends as you try a variety of awesome beers, many of which have a fruity flavor of some sort. On nice days, they open up the garage door windows and it really feels like spring.

Pinebox Rock Shop12 Grattan St: Are you a Bloody Mary fan? Pinebox is the place to get your Proud Mary on. A menu of multiple types of Mary’s is always a good day drinking go-to, but if you are in the mood for beer, their rotating taps will not disappoint. This funky spot is ideal for posting up and hanging out. Heck, they even have Duck Hunter! Sister bar Precious Metal also sports an excellent rotating tap selection.

Outdoor Oases

The Narrows, 1037 Flushing Ave: The Narrows is perfect for a small crowd to sip and chill in an intimate backyard setting. Grab a bottle of wine or a round of beer-shot combos and make your way out back.

Forrest Point, 970 Flushing Ave: If you want to impress an out of towner with a well-designed outdoor space, hit up Forrest Point. Perfect for boozing and brunching or just a cocktail on the two-seater sliding swing.

Sip ‘n Snack

Heavy Woods, 50 Wyckoff Ave: Why not order a dank cocktail and pair it with some snacks? The cocktail menu here is creative — think Earl Grey-infused gin and homemade horchata punch. For food, provided by Tchoup Shop, definitely don’t miss out on the Pork Belly crackers. They actually melt in your mouth. Sit inside, or out, and enjoy the Creole-inspired menu while getting a nice buzz on.

Roberta’s261 Moore St: What goes better with day-drinking than pizza? I mean.... Roberta’s is a quintessential Bushwick staple that one must visit, as much as possible frankly. Order at the take out window next door and snag a spot at one of the outdoor picnic tables while you wait. Wouldn’t hurt to try their rotating frozen drink either on a warm day.

So what are you waiting for? Cheers!
