Update: Police Seek Burglar Who Raped Bushwick Woman at Gunpoint Monday

A man who broke into the home of a Bushwick woman, raped her at gunpoint and robbed her in the early hours of Monday morning is sought by police, who are asking the public for help identifying the suspect.

The NYPD says that at 1:30 a.m. in the morning of Monday, July 25th, a 29-year-old woman was asleep in her home near the intersection of DeKalb Avenue and Wilson Avenue when she was awoken by the sound of her door opening.

The woman was then approached by an unknown man who was armed with a silver gun. He forcibly raped her before taking some of her belongings and fleeing.

The victim was transported to Woodhull Hospital, where she was treated and released.

Her attacker is described as black man in his mid-thirties who is just over 6 feet tall and weighs just under 200 pounds.
