A robbery turned into a fire fight in Bushwick early Saturday morning as an off-duty officer exchanged shots with a group of 6 individuals who stole his Rolex and other jewelry, officials say.

According to the NYPD, at about 3:30am on Saturday morning near the intersection of Wyckoff Ave and Grove street a few blocks away from the Myrtle-Wyckoff station on the L and the M trains, an unidentified, off-duty police officer with a decade’s experience on the force who is currently assigned to a Brooklyn precinct was approached by six individuals while in his vehicle. The group demanded his Rolex, as well as a necklace and two rings.

In the ensuing scuffle, one of the assailants produced a firearm, as did the officer, and shots were exchanged at close range.

The officer was transported to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center for a physical evaluation, though no injuries were reported.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
