Oops. Donald Trump is now president, and Bushwick is looking for any way to let off steam and also to donate money to the causes close to our hearts. We already have a great track record, hosting weekly fundraisers since the election and huge three day festivals for instance. Here are just some of the events you might want to check out today and tomorrow.

 Drink Pink at The Well

Drink Pink is a Planned Parenthood fundraiser with cheap beer and great food. Even though Knockdown Center raised 0ver 40,000 dollars for Planned Parenthood last weekend, that would not even come close to covering the funding gap should the GOP decide to defund the organization once and for all. Select beers will cost $2 and all proceeds from those beers will head straight to Planned Parenthood.

Drink Pink starts at 4 p.m. Friday and runs until 11 p.m.

The Anti-Inaugural Ball at Silent Barn

The Anti-Inaugural Ball is all about “celebrating the art of the protest, and the joy of resistance.” Eight dollars gets you in and benefits tomorrow’s Women’s March on NYC. You can dress up and listen to music by local acts Puppies and Antibodies, among others.

The Anti-Inaugural Ball starts Friday at 8 p.m.

 “Idiocracy” screening at Honey’s

Local meadery Honey’s is screening “Idiocracy” tonight in an attempt to fight sorrow with laughter and then dread. The movie, if your friends haven’t been talking about it ad nauseam, is loosely based on the present and depicts a world where plants are watered with a Gatorade style drink for the electrolytes and the president is an idiot.

“Idiocracy” screens Friday at 9 p.m.

Our Streets, Our Stories at Bushwick Library

Our Streets, Our Stories is an event organized by The Brooklyn Public Library’s Bushwick Avenue branch. It provides longtime residents of the neighborhood with the opportunity to share photographic memories and digitize their photo collections. Librarians will also be collecting oral histories if anyone is so inclined. And while this may seem like an odd item out on this list, personal histories and cataloging truth are going to come in mighty handy in a fake news world.

Our Streets, Our Stories takes place Saturday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

This Machine Kills Fascists at Pine Box Rock Shop

Pine Box Rock Shop will host This Machine Kills Fascists, a show and fundraiser benefitting Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, and Immigrant Justice Center. The minimum donation is eight dollars, but it gets you a solid five and a half hours of music from local acts such as verdigirls and acorns are YUM in addition to some late night DJs.

Pine Box has also added two presidential drinks to its menu for our drinking pleasure while its still okay to laugh and not cry: “Golden Shower” and “Late Night Tweet.”

This Machine Kills Fascists starts Saturday at 8:30 p.m.

And if all of this is not enough-and it isn’t-go out at march, demonstrate, write, make art!
