Kick off Your Weekend With a Bright, Taut Song Called “Bushwick”

A structured, driven song by an Australian folk duo takes its name from the neighborhood, and is the perfect tune to check out before heading out for a long holiday weekend.

Melboune based singers Olivia Hally and Pepita Emmerichs make up the band Oh Pep!, which will soon be spending the summer and part of the fall touring the United States.

They recently announced a July 1st release date for their debut album Stadium Cake and released two catchy singles—one of which is titled “Bushwick.”

The lyrics of the track are a narrative about trying to get back to the neighborhood, which open with a description of having success hailing a cab below elevated train tracks just in time to hear the train arrive into the station above (sound familiar?). Soaring harmonies and a rhythm-driven opening riff help evoke the elevated train.

Check out the tune below!
