Squatters may have started a massive blaze that engulfed a three-story home in Bushwick early Monday morning and injured four, officials said.

The three-alarm fire was reported around 6:15 a.m. at 1216 Halsey St. near Wilson Avenue, where firefighters found heavy smoke on the block and flames coming from the top floor of the home, according to the FDNY.

Firefighters battled the fast-moving fire until 8:20 a.m. when they finally got it under control.

The building has been unoccupied for years, but reports emerged of squatters possibly having lived in the building, according to an FDNY spokesman.

Three firefighters and one civilian suffered minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
