Bushwick’s Wilson Ave L train station went back into service this Tuesday after six weeks of repairs and renovations—and it cleans up nice.

The closure, which started on Monday, April 18th, allowed the MTA to do extensive work on the station. “Improvements include the installation of new doors and windows, painting, platform column restoration, tile restoration, façade restoration, new exterior lighting illuminating the approach to the station, and a new ADA ramp that will provide access to the Manhattan-bound platform,” MTA spokesperson Marisa Baldeo tells Bushwick Daily.

The station went back into service on Tuesday morning at 5am, just in time to transport local commuters returning to work after the long holiday weekend.

Additional work on the station will continue throughout the summer, though ongoing work won’t require more closure.

“We appreciate our customers’ patience while we complete this important project to provide riders with a greatly-improved Wilson Ave station,” says Baldeo.
