Brooklyn Cider House Needs Your Money to Help Pay for Its Murals

Remember that amazing news we shared of Brooklyn Cider House finally opening in Bushwick in mid-October? Well, they still haven’t opened yet.

What’s really going on behind the Wonka-like gates of the cidery, which has been teasing us for so long with a juicy location on the corner of Flushing Avenue and Melrose Street? Are there orange dwarves with green hair meddling about in there?

Nope, the owners just need a lot more money. Your money, in fact.

The cider house has launched a Kickstarter campaign to reach a target goal of $28,000. They currently have about $13,500 from 27 backers. The campaign closes in eight days.

Your money will be used to help pay two artists, Dede and Pixel Pancho, to paint huge murals both inside and outside the 12,000-square-foot venue, according to a spokesperson for the cidery.

If that isn’t enough inspiration to donate, then maybe Brooklyn Cider House’s donation rewards will.

Depending on the amount of money you pledge, you may be eligible for month-long (even life-long) happy hour prices any time you come in, an invitation to the mural-unveiling party, custom memorabilia, and more.

Remember, bars and restaurants come and go in Bushwick. But a customized cider glass or a shirt will live forever.
