What’s new in Bushwick? Well, don’t let me even get started. Actually, you can get me started. Amongst dozens of new bars and restaurants, we have a new pet store on Knickerbocker Ave. NYC Pet is the biggest pet store in Bushwick yet, and is no newbie to the pet supply business (seven Brooklyn locations in all). The store opened a couple of weeks ago, and it carries… you know, a lot of pet stuff, such as cat food and dog food (my cat’s favorite brand, Weruva, is reasonably priced), toys, and they will also be offering grooming services.
Interestingly, pet stores are quite a popular choice when it comes to new businesses in Bushwick. NYC Pet is the newest of a number of pet stores operating in Bushwick. Remember the awesome DIY doggie shower at Bushwick Bark on Knickerbocker? There’s also the supercute, resident cats at Pet Superette on Cypress Ave; Bushy Tails and their locations at The Loom and on Irving Ave; and the best place to get bird supplies, NYBirdstore on Bushwick Ave. We don’t recommend supporting N.V. Pets on Central Ave as the owners have a rather interesting idea about animal welfare and were just recently busted as a cockfighting hub.
