A serial burglar is still on the loose after using unlocked windows to break into four Ridgewood homes since late October.
While the burglar didn’t manage to take anything during his first attempt on Oct. 24, his subsequent ventures were more successful.
At 4 p.m. on Oct. 27, police say the crook entered a home in the area of Fresh Pond Road and Myrtle Avenue through an unsecured window, making off with more than $9,500 in electronics and jewelry. Later that day — and in the same area — he broke into another apartment and stole $1,000 in jewelry.
The last reported incident took place at 8 a.m. on Nov. 10 when the thief burglarized an apartment on Palmetto Street near Fresh Pond Road. He stole $620 in electronics and purses, police say.
The suspect is described as a white male, 20-30 years old, last seen dressed in all black clothing. Police believe the man is using the fire escape to enter unlocked windows.
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS or for Spanish 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
