Parents of Bushwick, are you interested in learning more about the public school options in the neighborhood? Swing by the District 32 School Fair this Saturday!
Each of the neighborhood’s public schools will be showcasing their unique offerings so parents can learn more about the range of programs available, including drumline, dance teams and robotics. There will also be performances, face painting, contests, games, music and food.
This is the first event of its kind and the District 32 Community Education Council organized it in collaboration with local school officials and local representatives. They hosted the event parents, particularly those who are new to the area, to learn about Bushwick’s public schools.
“Living in Bushwick for over thirty years, I didn’t know about the options in Bushwick,” says Martha Bayona, president of the Community Education Council for District 32 and parent of two.
While Bayona admits that the district’s schools need improvement, she says that there are still great schooling options right here in the neighborhood, and she hopes the event will help people realize that.
The District 32 School Fair will take place this Saturday, June 23, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Philippa Schuyler JHS 383 Schoolyard at 1300 Greene Ave.
