Together with fantastic local entrepreneur Katja Bartholmess*, I started Bushwick Entrepreneurs Club (BEC) simply because I wanted to meet and talk with other business owners in the area in an informal, friendly setting.
Being an entrepreneur, or simply being self-employed, has its own very special kind of ups and downs, and that only people who have tried it themselves understand. Talking about these joys and challenges with other like-minded individuals can be super-therapeutic, productive and inspiring.
BEC is an all-inclusive platforms that seeks to establish collaborations across industries; advocates for sustainable economic development of the neighborhood, and creates a space where member can “exchange notes.”
It’s been a while since we last met as a group, and many of you, as well as I, deeply desire to revive the series of meetings, and so we’ll do so on Monday, Feb. 27, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Walter’s Coffee Shop at 65 Irving Ave. (between Troutman & Starr streets).
If you wish to donate any refreshments, drinks or snacks to this happy, we are still looking for sponsors! Just email me at katarina[@]bushwickdaily.com, and we’ll take it from there.
If you wish to attend, please RSVP here, and make sure to join our closed Facebook group.
*Katja is not available during this February meet-up, but promised to join us in the future.
