We're in the midst of a heatwave in New York. That also applies to the gigs this week in Bushwick. They're hot!!!! Here are some good ones to check out:

Wednesday, July 24

Henry Something, eCOCOBOYS, Pleasure Island, Golden West Service at Alphaville, 8 p.m.

Local lo-fi bedroom pop act Henry Something will headline a diverse lineup that also features both heavy and soft sounding acts. The fiery garage rock sounds of quartet eCOCOBOYS are counterbalanced by the lounge inspired surf grooves of Pleasure Island, an act that you’ll dig if you’re into the recent output of Dent May and Part Time. Openers Golden West Service will provide a dose of classic sounding indie rock to get things started.

Thursday, July 25

Future Punx

Future Punx, Seedy Films, Timo Lee at The Sultan Room at The Turk's Inn, 9 p.m.

New wave post-punks Future Punx are back in town after spending the month of June on the road with The Mystery Lights. In March, the four-piece released their first EP in almost four years, the fast-moving and fierce The World Is A Mess. They’ll enjoy support from the whimsical post-punk of Seedy Films and Timo Lee will be DJing.

Friday, July 26

Tall Juan, Las Rosas, Gustaf, and Yaasss at Market Hotel, 8 p.m.

Argentinian native and Ridgewood, Queens-based songwriter Tall Juan is playing only one of a handful of shows he has scheduled for this summer on Friday night at Market Hotel. He’ll be joined by local Las Rosas, who just shared their latest EP Day Sleeper, which includes the mesmerizing single “Diamond Dust,” and art-rockers Gustaf, who are returning home from a two-week tour that included a series of West Coast dates. Yaasss, a high energy hybrid of glam and garage, plays first.

Saturday, July 27

The Avengers at El Cortez, 7 p.m.

San Francisco punk legends The Avengers are in Bushwick for one night only, so don’t miss your chance to see them this Saturday in The Safari Room at El Cortez. The band, who rose to prominence after opening up for the Sex Pistols at their last ever show, are in the midst of a summer tour that includes one final stop in New Haven, CT on the 28 before the they head across the pond to Europe.
