Sip cocktails at three of Bushwick’s favorite bars and get your picture taken in a unique Volkswagen photo booth which will follow you every step of the way on a boozy bar crawl set to hit House of Yes, Central Station, and Forrest Point tomorrow, August 18.
Madison Reyes, owner and operator of NYPhotoBus, hopes that the first Cocktail Tour will make it possible “to spread the joy I get from the bus with others in a fun way.”
The bus itself–Melo is the name–took eight years to restore into the traveling photo booth it is today complete with vintage touches like gingham curtains and a tweed couch to splay out on.
When asked about the idea behind this epic cocktail tour, Reyes said: “It’s about encouraging and sharing the different ways people express themselves. The bars do it through great cocktails and lovely environments. The people on the tour will be doing so by bringing an intention of creation to the tour. We encourage people to dress in a manner that encourages full self-expression. Costumes are welcome!”
Attendees will get three sample cocktails courtesy of each bar, free photos courtesy of Melo, and a dance party along the way courtesy of some house music.
One of the best things about this event is that all proceeds will benefit Ripple Effect Artists, a non-profit whose most recent play She Has a Name hopes to bring awareness to child sex trafficking.
While a website is in the works, you can follow all of the Melo’s exploits on Instagram. The PhotoBus is available for private events, too!
Tickets for tomorrow’s event are $40 and available here. The party starts at Central Station at 7pm.
