Bookstore sales are up across the country for the first time since 2007, and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate than with the Brooklyn Bookstore Crawl on April 30th (which also happens to be Independent Bookstore Day).

Three Bushwick bookstores are highlighted on the event’s official itinerary: Human Relations on Flushing, Better Read Than Dead on Broadway, and Molasses Books on Hart. Visiting all three will get you 60% of the way to completing the challenge.

Organizers invite the public to pick from a huge variety of bookstores all across the borough: participants can visit five of the featured shops, post about their day using the official hashtag (#bkbookstorecrawl), and be entered into a drawing for prizes from the overwhelming number of sponsoring bookstores. Founder, Ellen B Wright, tells us bookstores are picking out specific prizes now, but they will include signed books and gift cards.

Sounds like fun to us! See you in the stacks, Bushwick!
