A motorcycle struck a group of pedestrians inside Commodore Barry Park in Brooklyn, injuring 12 people, according to the Brooklyn Eagle. One person was taken into custody following the crash, per ABC7 Chicago.
The crash happened just after 6:30 p.m., per ABC7 Chicago. Police say a 53-year-old woman, identified as Neisha Atkinson, allegedly lost control of the three-wheeled motorcycle and struck a group of people in the park. Authorities say seven men and five women, ranging in age from 36 to 73, were hurt; all 12 suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were listed in stable condition Monday morning. Police have charged Atkinson with two counts of reckless endangerment, reckless driving, failure to yield to pedestrians, and improper licensing, per ABC7 Chicago.
The Brooklyn Eagle called it a motor scooter; ABC7 Chicago called it a motorcycle. Bushwick Daily has not independently confirmed the vehicle type.
