Helicopters circled Flushing Avenue on Thursday evening after a young man had a dispute with his mother in the afternoon and did not return home.

NYPD sources say that Decatur Gooden, a 21-year-old resident of Flushing Avenue, was last seen at his home shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, when he stormed out after fighting with his mother.

Five hours later, Bushwick residents were alarmed by a police helicopter presence above the neighborhood, which was flying low with searchlights on below the evening’s heavy cloud cover.

Police say Gooden has a history of depression, and a police source says Gooden stated to a relative that he was possibly armed with a BB gun.

Gooden is 5’4″ tall and weighs 100 pounds, with a thin build, a medium complexion, black hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white Jordan sneakers.
