If you use the Morgan L train stop, chances are you walk past Friends NYC everyday. If you haven’t ventured inside yet I encourage you to take a peak.
Located at 56 Bogart St. in East Williamsburg, beneath its iconic neon sign, you’ll find a 2,600-square-feet indie department store, carrying contemporary and vintage clothing for men and women as well as accessories, jewelry, gifts and much more!
If you like drinking whilst you shop (a dangerous, yet totally fun pursuit) make sure you check out their weekly event called “Natty Thursday” which runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Not only do Friends NYC offer free natural wine from Vine Wine and beer, during this event, you also can expect a really awesome special deal! The deal changes every week. To find out what the deal is follow Friends NYC on Instagram, sign up for their newsletter to receive an advance notice or stop by at the store on the day of to find out. Previous deals have included sales on vintage, contemporary clothing, jewelry and shoes.
This coming Thursday, on Jan. 26, you can look forward to the first ever Natty Blow Out Sale, where you’ll find racks packed with vintage and contemporary items for $1, $5, $10, and $20. Super-cute merchandise will include brands like UNIF, Rocket Lunch, Mary Meyer, and Rollas, vintage and more! $1 items plus a free glass of wine? I’ll meet you there!
Natty Thursday has one important, altruistic perk to it. Friends NYC works with various local charities to give something back to the community. For the Natty Thursday on February 2, Friends NYC will be donating clothing to Broadway House Women’s Shelter in Bushwick.
Any customer who brings in gently used winter clothing will get 25 percent off their purchase during the event. Friends NYC will then combine those items with clothing donations directly from the store to give to the shelter. No one is going to guilt trip you about this shopping trip!
