Last week, proprietors of Ingraham Street bar Alaska made a sad announcement on their Facebook page: the bar will shutter its doors on July 3rd.

The joint, which makes a mean bourbon milkshake and made a full recovery after a fire in June of 2013, is instantly recognizable in photographs thanks to its taxidermy and distinctive red wallpaper. The bar celebrated its fourth anniversary this past Tuesday, June 14th, with a what was undoubtedly a bittersweet karaoke night.

Bushwick Daily reached out to owner Skyler David Insler for additional details about the decision to close; Mr. Insler did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
