Of the many spaces that comprise the cluster of businesses/ideas/random thoughts in the Loom, the Deli and General Store has secured its place as a the best spot to eat a hearty meal when your starving or to grab one of the many curious food items that have been procured from the most obscure places across the land. Either way when co-owner Chris has his mom in town a.k.a Mommadukes you’ll really get more than just an ordinary sandwich. On the several days which I purposefully returned always having some excuse to be there Mommadukes would be behind the counter preparing chocolate-cherry bread pudding oozing with custard and rich bittersweet chocolate while having customers examine the best Muffelatta I have ever seen, piles upon piles of delectible cured meats and her homemade olive salad on huge soft chewy Cibatta make for the best six bucks ever spent. If you’re under the impression that great meals are not found in Deli’s than you owe it to yourself and your acking belly to come in and try something, anything. Really.
