Julio Salazar, the community liaison to Congresswoman Velazquez, launched a new civic and political organization in Bushwick, and invites the community to join them at their first meeting later this month.
The BPCC aims to increase local civic engagement to enact change to Bushwick’s current electoral politics. According to the press release, the Club’s purpose is to:
Educate residents on public policy
Increase civic education and participation
Promote a political culture responsive to all residents of Bushwick
Support candidates who align with BPCC values

Bushwick Political and Civic Club’s (BPCC) first gathering at the Latinos Americanos Unidos nonprofit location. The meeting will inform attendees about the mission and current makeup of the BPCC, answer questions to interested community members, and serve food from local vendors.
The meeting will be held at Latinos Americanos Unidos, is free to attend, and begins at 6:30 p.m. on December 16th.
