The NYPD, FBI and several other state and federal agencies worked together to bring down a group of drug traffickers with ties to Bushwick.

The six men arrested-Victor Agosto, Perfecto Deleon, Luis Lopez, Andres Reyes, Nestor Rivera, and Peter Vasquez-were allegedly members of a large-scale heroin trafficking organization with Mexican cartel connections that trafficked in hundreds of kilograms of heroin into New York City.

According to the indictment, the group transported heroin from Los Angeles to Chicago and then on to New York. They also allegedly made trips to Mexico in order to further grow their drug operation.

While in NYC, the men allegedly spent money on an assortment of designer clothes, watches, cars, and other luxury items such as a $3,000 Versace baby stroller. The fleet of seized cars included a Rolls Royce Ghost, Range Rover Sport, Lamborghini Huracan, Audi A8 Spyder, and Mercedes CLS63 AMG.

One of the defendants had ties to a Bushwick gang, Young Gunnerz, who helped protect the trafficking operation.

In addition to the cars and 12 kilograms of heroin, law enforcement also seized $800,000 in drug income between December 2011 and February 2015.

If the men are convicted of the charges against them, they face serious jail time including a mandatory minimum of 10 years for drug trafficking and consecutive five year minimums for each count of using a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.

NYPD Commissioner James P. O’Neill says, “The heroin epidemic is real. These defendants not only moved large amounts of heroin across the country — they carried firearms to protect their turf and extravagant lifestyle … New Yorkers are safer with this poison off our streets.”
